How do I apply to Work in the UK?
There are some categories of worker who may qualify to work in the UK without need for the points based system, notably sole representatives of overseas companies or domestic workers in private or diplomatic households, however most foreign workers who apply to work in the UK will be processed using the points based system.
The points based system (PBS) is intended for foreign nationals who wish to invest, set up in business or work in Britain. Since its introduction, PBS has been altered to meet changing economic conditions following the global economic downturn. PBS is governed by immigration rules, appendices to those rules, and published policy guidance.
Latitude Law has advised foreign workers and families on the PBS since its introduction in 2008, and our immigration lawyers have acquired in-depth knowledge of how the system operates. We can work with you to identify the tier of PBS that best suits your own circumstances. We can also advise employers and prospective workers on the many difficulties involved in this increasingly complex area of immigration law.
